Lawton Area Lakes
Lawton area lakes offer an excellent variety of recreational activities. Fishing, camping, boating, skiing, and swimming are allowed at Lake Ellsworth and Lake Lawtonka which are owned and operated by the City of Lawton. The 5,600 acre Lake Ellsworth is located 14 miles north of Lawton and has some of the best fishing in the state. Lawtonka has 2,398 surface acres and is located about 10 miles northwest of Lawton. There are several designated hunting and trapping areas on the City of Lawton lake property. Click here to see the official hunting regulations. State and City permits are required for fishing, boating, hunting and trapping. City permits can be obtained at concessions at the lakes or at City Hall.
Camping at LawtonkaAlthough all activities are allowed on both lakes, Lawtonka attracts more skiers, jet-skis, wet-bikes, sail-boards, etc. Ellsworth attracts more fisherman and out-of-the way campers. Ellsworth also has a 160 acre off-road R.V. track for 4-wheelers, motorcycles, etc. Both lakes have sheltered camping sites with electricity. Water and sanitary dumps are nearby. Some camp areas have showers and restrooms.
